Casey Flitsch

Area Director

Casey graduated from Snohomish High School in 2013 and met his wife, Aafke, while attending Wheaton College in Illinois. He spent five years as a youth pastor in the Chicago suburbs before joining the Snohomish Valley staff team in 2022.

Casey and Aafke's deepest desire is to create spaces where kids feel known, accepted, and loved. They also really love their Instant-Pot. They live in downtown Snohomish and can be found out on the Centennial Trail pretty much every day. Fun facts: Casey has really bad handwriting and adamantly refuses to stretch before doing anything athletic.

Angela Albriktsen

Area Administrator & Committee Coordinator

Angela is a graduate from Cascade High School and married her high school sweetheart, Kenny, who is the area's unofficial intern. Angela and Kenny own a construction company and build homes in the Seattle area, employing several of their former Young Life kids.

Angela and Kenny both committed their lives to Jesus in high school at Young Life events. They desire to pour into the next generation the same way their leaders did. Angela loves decorating and fostering puppies (not cats). She is obsessed with Disneyland and enjoys traveling to new places. Fun fact: Angela can recite all fifty states in alphabetical order in under 45 seconds.

Kariana Wetmore

Glacier Peak Young Life Lead

Kari has lived in Snohomish her whole life! She grew up in a Christian home but was introduced to Young Life in 2014 when she came to her first Young Life club. She went to her first camp in 2015 and hasn't been able to get away from Young Life since!

Kari graduated from Glacier Peak in 2019 and since then has been working part time at a local coffee stand. Kari loves Redbull Italian sodas + white coffee... YUM! Her go to non-coffee stand drink is a sprite, catch her drinking one at every restaurant.

Kari joined our staff team in 2021 and runs all of our communication platforms. She leads the junior girls from Glacier Peak as well as the 8th-grade girls from Valley View. ​ Fun Fact: She loves line dancing!

Justus Cagle

Snohomish Young Life Lead

Justus graduated from Snohomish High School in 2019 and jumped into working in the trades. He started an electrical apprenticeship right out of high school but ended up finding his lane in remodeling.

In high school Justus heard about Young Life and had friends that went but didn't join in the fun till the last event of his senior year, The Color War. Three years later he capitalized on an opportunity to come lead for WyldLife and that's when the fire for ministry started. He started on staff in 2022 and can't wait to see where our area will grow. Fun Fact: Justus loves to Golf - but is very bad at Golf...

Michaela Varberg

Monroe Young Life Lead

Michaela graduated from Snohomish High School in 2015. She then attended Wheaton College where she met her husband, Nick, in math class. Michaela and Nick lived in Denver for 5 years where she taught middle school math and then was a software developer.

Michaela, Nick and their son Laken moved to Monroe in January 2024 where they are enjoying Bearcat life!

Michaela started a relationship with Jesus in middle school at WyldLife camp and loves being a part of the ministry that pointed her to new life! Michaela is obsessed with mochas, naps, yard games and hanging out with Laken. Fun fact: Michaela was the front half of her college’s mascot!

Eli Esterly

WyldLife Lead

Eli serves on the Snohomish Valley Young Life team as student staff. He was born and raised in Snohomish and his parents served as leaders and on staff. Eli loves playing soccer and skiing in the winter. Eli is currently finishing his undergraduate studies through Grand Canyon University where he is getting his business management degree. He is excited to be back and serving in the town he grew up in.

Fun fact: Eli is a professional hen wrangler and can do an inordinate amount of unassisted pull-ups.
